Is it an iris? or is it Amaryllis? Unusually flat flower with no standards.
Tall Bearded Iris 69cm.
Mid Season flowering, May and June in the UK.
Pronounced Sweet Fragrance.
The flower form is very much like an amaryllis. The six Chinese yellow petals with shades of pink, faint violet blue and bronze all form a whorl around the lacy style arms.
Unlike some novelty types this has been a very consistent performer.
Hybridised by Ruth Goebel in 1989 from Mount Spokane X (Tillamook x self).
We first saw this amazing iris at Long's Gardens in Boulder Colorado, now run by Catherine the grand-daughter of Jesse Long.
Orders shipped in September.
