Like many of Cedric's iris Cordelia refers to a friend- Cordelia Tregurtha.
Mid Season flowering in the UK - May - June.
Showy pale-mauve self with a tangerine beard.
Introduced by the British artist and hybridiser Sir Cedric Morris in 1953 from Benton Petunia x Radiation.
Dykes Medal winner in 1955.
Appearing in the Wallace & Co catalogue of 1953. It's understood that Cedric had been working closely with the Wallace family nursery who had been specialising in iris since the early 1800's.
