Bred by Emily Stevens in 1946. Emily was undoubtedly one of New Zealand's pioneer iris hybridisers. With over 150 iris and a world wide, almost cult following by enthusiasts and fellow iris hybridisers alike.
The Queen Mother asked to visit the Stevenses garden during her 1966 tour of NZ and reportedly left 'with an armful of slips and cuttings'.
