British Historic Tall Bearded Iris 91cm
Mid Season flowering, May and June in the UK.
Blue standards with inky purple falls and paler margins.
Hybridised by the great British Artist and iris hybridiser Sir Cedric Morris in 1956.
Nigel Scott moved into Cedric’s extended household and is now remembered in Iris Benton Nigel. It was Nigel who went on plant-hunting expeditions with Cedric and encouraged him to plant the garden at Benton End in drifts rather than formal rows.
This iris is a classic and beautiful addition to the garden with a story of its own to tell.
